With Citation 9, you no longer need to use the Windows Open File dialog to find your datafiles.

Citation 9 lists recently opened datafiles on the File menu:

You can use keyboard shortcuts, now, as well (Ctrl+1 to open the datafile you worked on most recently, Ctrl+2 for the second file in the list), to switch quickly between different datafiles.
