There are a number of ways to locate the record for a particular source in your datafile, including the Find Text feature, a List Box Searches, or simply browsing through all the records having to do with an issue to locate the source you need to cite.

We recommend that as you are writing, you keep the Short List View of your datafile open. Records in the Short List View are sorted by Author, and you can usually find the record for the source work easily using the Short List View.

The Short List View for the tutor.dat datafile, for instance, looks like this:

Once you locate the source to cite in the Short List View, double click on the entry to go to the record in your datafile for the source work.
