BookWhere 2000 search and retrieval software transforms Citation into a powerful research tool. BookWhere 2000 lets you easily search libraries and databases of published information on the Internet. You can simultaneously search library collections and specialized databases including MEDLINE, PsycINFO, the Library of Congress, OCLC's WorldCat, and hundreds of others worldwide, and download your search results, along with library and database reference numbers, directly into your Citation datafile.

It's an easy, efficient, and thorough way to locate materials on your topic.

Here's a basic tour of the basics of using BookWhere with Citation.

Define your query by specifying the search criteria. You can use the search dialog to search by Author, title, or Subject, and you will have the option of defining more complex searches with the power dialog. In our example here, we will search the Library of Congress catalog for publications authored by Paul Brest:

Clicking the Search button initiates the search.

BookWhere searches all the libary and online systems you have selected, and displays the search results:

You can display the full record for any entry in the list by highlighting it.

After you have browsed though the search results, highlight the records you want to add to your Citation datafile. In our example, we are going to highlight all the records found in our search:

Choose File, Export, to display the Export Records dialog:

Double click on your Citation datafile to add the records you've selected to your Citation datafile.

If you have searched a large number of library systems, you can use Citation's Find Duplicates feature to locate and delete duplicate records.

BookWhere exports author name, title, etc. - directly to your Citation datafile. Library subject headings are included in the exported record as keywords:
